Engagement on Property Transfers with NDPWI
In August 2022, at the request of the Jozini Municipality, Priya Biariah facilitated an introduction and meeting between the Minister of Public Works, Ms Patricia de Lille, and municipal representatives regarding the transfer of government-utilised properties.
Further discussions were held in November 2022 between the Ntsinde Traditional Council and the NDPWI, where it was proposed that properties under NDPWI’s control be transferred to either the Ntsinde Traditional Council or the Ingonyama Trust Board (ITB).
The process remains ongoing due to changes in ministerial and ITB leadership since 2022. The Minister’s portfolio has since been held by Mr Sihle Zikalala and is currently led by Mr Dean Macpherson. An official meeting with the ITB is still pending.
